Come back to Firefox

A fresh start for your browser. A familiar home for your bookmarks.

Example bookmarks. Import adds a copy and keeps your originals.

Firefox is an independent browser that puts privacy and choice front and center, with built-in tracker blocking, Reader View for quieter reading, and themes and extensions to make it your own. Ready for a fresh start? Download Firefox from the official website, then bring your favorite sites along.

Making Firefox your own also means keeping your favorite corners of the web close by. The recipes you've saved, the tools you use every day, that folder of things you'll read someday — bringing your bookmarks along helps your new browser feel like home.

Sync Bookmarks makes it easy to move bookmarks from Chrome, Edge, or another supported desktop browser to Firefox. Create a transfer link, open it in Firefox, and import your bookmarks. No account to create. No bookmark files to juggle.

Bring your bookmarks to Firefox in three steps

  1. Start in the browser you use today. Install Sync Bookmarks for Chrome or Sync Bookmarks for Edge in the browser profile that holds your bookmarks. Open the extension and click Start the transfer to create a temporary transfer link.
  2. Open your transfer link in Firefox. Copy the link and paste it into Firefox, on this computer or another one. Install the Sync Bookmarks Firefox add-on there so you're ready to import.
  3. Click Import. Make yourself at home. With the add-on installed, click Import on the transfer page. Your bookmarks and folders are added alongside the ones already in Firefox. The originals stay in your source browser, too.

Using another supported browser? Get the extension for your browser and follow the same steps. The transfer link connects the two browsers, even when they're on different computers.

How to transfer bookmarks from Chrome to Firefox

Start with Sync Bookmarks in the Chrome Web Store. If you have separate work and personal Chrome profiles, open the one with the bookmarks you want to bring over. Start the transfer there, then open the link in your chosen Firefox profile.

There's no need to find Chrome's export menu, save an HTML file, and locate it again in Firefox. The extension handles the export and import through your transfer link. Your bookmark folders come with you, and bookmarks from Chrome's bookmarks bar go to Firefox's Bookmarks Toolbar.

You can keep using Chrome while you try Firefox. Copying your bookmarks doesn't delete them from Chrome or commit you to an all-at-once switch.

How to move Edge favorites to Firefox

Edge calls them favorites; Firefox calls them bookmarks. Either way, they're your saved places on the web. Install Sync Bookmarks from Microsoft Edge Add-ons, open it in the Edge profile you want to copy, and create your transfer link.

Open that link in Firefox and import with the Firefox add-on. Your Edge favorites and folders join your Firefox bookmarks without replacing what's already there. The same flow works if Edge is on your old computer and Firefox is on your new one.

Why bring your bookmarks with Sync Bookmarks?

  • Less setup, more browsing. No sign-up, account pairing, or manual file handling. Install the extension, create a link, and bring your saved sites over.
  • Your existing Firefox bookmarks stay put. Import adds to your collection rather than wiping it or replacing it with the source browser's bookmarks.
  • A tidier merge. Matching folder paths are reused, and a URL already saved in the same folder is skipped. You can bring over another copy later without needlessly adding the same links to those folders again.
  • Different computer? Same steps. A transfer link works across supported desktop browsers, profiles, and computers. You don't need both browsers installed on the same machine.
  • Switch at your own pace. Keep your bookmarks in your old browser while you settle into Firefox. Start another transfer whenever you want to bring over newer saved sites.

A few things you might be wondering

Can I import bookmarks into Firefox if I already use it?

Absolutely. You can bring bookmarks into a Firefox profile you've used for years or a brand-new one. The extension keeps your existing bookmarks and adds the transferred ones alongside them.

Can I move bookmarks to Firefox on a new computer?

Yes. Create the transfer in your source browser on the old computer, then open the link in Firefox on the new one. Install Sync Bookmarks in Firefox and import. No USB drive or emailed bookmark file needed.

Will my browsers keep syncing automatically?

You choose when to sync. Each transfer copies your bookmarks as they are when you start it. When you want to bring over later additions, just create a fresh transfer link.

How does the transfer link work?

Starting a transfer uploads your bookmarks to Bmark.cc temporarily so Firefox can download and import them. The link expires automatically. Anyone with an active link or code can view and import the bookmarks, so keep it between people and devices you trust. Our privacy policy explains the details.

Ready to feel at home in Firefox?

Your browser can change without starting your bookmark collection from scratch. Get Sync Bookmarks for your current browser, create your transfer link, and bring your favorite sites to Firefox.

Already have your link? Install the Sync Bookmarks Firefox add-on, open the link in Firefox, and you're ready to import.

Prefer not to install an extension?

For a straightforward, one-time move from another browser on the same computer, Firefox also has built-in import tools. You can use them during setup or later through Settings → General → Import Browser Data. See Mozilla's guide to importing bookmarks and other browser data for the available options.

That's a useful route if you don't want another extension. If you'd rather use a transfer link, move between computers, or merge bookmarks into the folders you already use, Sync Bookmarks is here to make the move easy.
